I could write a book about Van Dijk : Klopp

The Liverpool master tactician heaped praise on the Netherlands defender Virgil van Dijk and joked he can write a whole book describing the  superdefender

After the impressive display in the game between Liverpool and Bayern Munich in Germany By scoring a goal and an assist, Van Dijk became the first Liverpool player to both score and assist a goal in an away Champions League knockout game since Craig Bellamy against Barcelona in February 2007 furthermore Van Dijk has shown himself to be one of Europe’s best central defenders. The Dutch international — a £75million signing from Southampton — is an exceptional footballer who also possesses that rare ability to improve those playing alongside him.In the game against Bayern Munich he was Master and commander  and kept Lewandowski under lock and key not only this he also  set the first up and then popped up with a goal of his own.

It was brilliant. He was involved in the goal of Bayern as well, so what a night! What can I say? I could write a book about his skills, his strength, how much I like him, what a fantastic person he is. HE is so young, already so mature, really strong, all good. Virg knows he can play better than he did tonight; we can play better than we did tonight.

Virgil van Dijk’s game by numbers vs. Bayern Munich: 100% aerial duels won 100% shot accuracy 100% tackles won 5 clearances 3 interceptions 1 assist 1 goal Liverpool progressed to the quarter-finals of the competition with a 3-1 win at the Allianz Arena, within a Sadio Mane brace and Van Dijk header.
